IDLES’ third album arrives in September.
IDLES have announced their highly-anticipated third album, Ultra Mono. Due for release on 25 September, the new album spans 12 tracks including the previously released single Mr Motivator and new song Grounds. The album was recorded in Paris and features former Crack Magazine cover star Jehnny Beth as well as production from Kenny Beats and vocal contributions from Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds’ Warren Ellis.
Speaking about the group’s new single, singer Joe Talbot said: “We wanted to write a song that embodied self-belief, and gave us self-belief – a counter-punch to all the doubt we build up from all the noise we so easily let in. We wanted to make the sound of our own hearts’ marching band, armed with a jack hammer and a smile. We wanted to make the sound of our engine starting. So we did. Thank you.”
IDLES will also host three live performances in an “iconic studio” this August, which will be broadcast via a ticketed live-stream.
