Archive Ryuichi Sakamoto radio shows with David Bowie and Haruki Murakami to air on NTS

NTS Radio is re-airing three archival radio shows hosted by Ryuichi Sakamoto in the 80s.

The first of the three shows, which featured music and a conversation between Sakamoto and David Sylvian, aired yesterday (23 December). The second show will be broadcast on 28 December at 12pm (GMT) and features Haruki Murakami. The series will be rounded off with a final show featuring Sakamoto in conversation with David Bowie and will be broadcast at 2pm (GMT) on New Year’s Day. Check out the schedule below.

The shows were originally broadcast on Japanese radio station NHK FM. London-based station NTS describes the shows as a “blink-and-miss-it affair”. Due to licensing issues, the series won’t be archived on the NTS site.

Charlie Bone’s Do!! You!!! NYE show, airing on 31 December, was also recently added to the December programme.
