The original version featured on Boyd’s Dark Matter LP.

Moses Boyd has linked with fellow south Londoner Katy B for a remix of his track 2 Far Gone. The track first appeared on Boyd’s Dark Matter LP, which was released last year and nominated for the 2020 Mercury Prize. Dark Matter also featured in our Albums of the Year 2020 roundup.

Speaking on the new remix, Katy B said, “I’m really honoured to link up with Moses on this remix to celebrate the one year anniversary of Dark Matter, such a fan of Moses and the album so really excited to be part of it. The lyric ‘Too far gone’ felt like something that you’re trying to hold on to but too much has happened to be saved. The instrumental has such an energy and drive but also a darkness and drama to it so wanted to explore that feeling of an internal battle, trying to find a way to let go.” [sic]

Boyd added, “So glad that we could make this collaboration happen. Much love to the legend Katy B for featuring on this version…”

Back in December, Boyd teamed up with Kelsey Lu and Kelly Moran on a new track titled let all the poisons that lurk in the mud seep out. Meanwhile, 2021 marks the 10-year anniversary of Katy B’s seminal debut album On a Mission.
