Polifonic Festival launches new label

The label’s first release features four contributions from Polifonic Festival affiliates and longtime friends.

Italian festival Polifonic has launched a new label wing. The team behind the venture have described the label as “the melodic balance between antagonistic vibrations, spirits and energies that inhabit the land of Puglia.” On what the label’s sound is, they added that it will encompass a “harmonic exploration into colourful, vibrant sunrise atmospheres and emotional, introspective sunset sensations.”

The label’s first release, Itria, lands on 12 February and features a string of festival affiliates and longtime friends of Polifonic. The project sees the likes of Francis Inferno Orchestra, Simone de Kunovich, Yanik Park and Jolly Mare teaming up to inaugurate the imprint via a four-track compilation. Its visual packaging and title pays tribute to Itria, “the magic Valley placed between two seas, Adriatico and Ionio, in the earth of Regione Puglia,” where the festival typically takes place.

Polifonic’s second release will be an EP from duo Hiver. The EP’s titled Sequential Circuit and features remixes from Adiel and Marco Shuttle. It’s scheduled for release this spring.

Itria is out on 12 February on Polifonic. Head over to the label’s Bandcamp to pre-order or tune into some snippets below.
