LSDXOXO is releasing a four-track EP via influential UK imprint XL Recordings. The Philly-born, Berlin-based artist and Floorgasm boss will touch down on the label on 14 May with his Dedicated 2 Disrespect EP. The project is being released as part of XL’s house bag series.
The EP leads with LSDXOXO’s long-awaited single Sick Bitch, as well as an accompanying music video directed by Pe Ferreira + Enantios Dromos (Limitrofetelevision). The Sick Bitch visual sees LSDXOXO exploring his hybrid rave meets techno meets mischievous pop aesthetic in music video format for the very first time. The artist teamed with PDA’s Mischa Notcutt on the video’s creative direction. “I wanted to make a Dance Mania pop anthem with vocals that had the playfulness and vulgarity of Chicago ghetto house,” says LSDXOXO on the new single.
Dedicated 2 Disrespect follows LSDXOXO’s Waiting 2 Exhale mixtape, which was released in October 2020. At the time, LSDXOXO spoke to Discwoman‘s Frankie Decaiza Hutchinson about the project over on Dweller. The pair discussed “his process, why it’s taken this long to release, white commodification of dance music and how Black voices are steering a revolutionary time in techno music.”
