The live streamed show first aired in September.
Perfume Genius has shared a new concert film to mark the one year anniversary of his fifth studio album Set My Heart On Fire Immediately. Perfume Genius – real name Mike Hadreas – originally live streamed the hour-and-a-half-long show back in September from LA’s Palace Theatre. Proceeds from the ticketed gig were donated to LGBTQ immigrant rights group Immigration Equality. Hadreas performed on-stage alongside a six-piece band and a string quartet.
The former Crack Magazine cover star has previously shared select videos from the concert – for example, his performance of track Nothing At All – however the new upload will be the first time many are seeing the entire show in full. Most of the songs featured in the performance are lifted from Set My Heart On Fire Immediately, but Hadreas also dives into his catalogue to perform tracks from past releases like No Shape, Put Your Back N 2 It and Learning. Hadreas also performs a cover of Mazzy Star’s Fade Into You.
Back in January, Hadreas announced a Set My Heart on Fire Immediately remix album. Entitled Immediately Remixes, the release featured the likes of Actress, A. G. Cook, Planningtorock and more. Nídia, Danny L Harle and Actress also featured.
“I’m very honoured to have all these incredible musicians rework these songs,” said Hadreas at the time. “I felt personally remixed listening to their versions, hearing the spirit of my song completely transformed was very magical. Each one feels like a little portal to a fucked up shared world.”
