This is the Radiohead frontman’s second remix of the track.
Thom Yorke has remixed MF DOOM’s Gazzillion Ear, a track from the late rapper’s 2009 LP Born Like This. The release comes via Lex Records, and it marks Yorke’s second remix of the track. The first remix, released in 2009, was delivered under the alias Monkey Hustle. Now, Yorke’s second remix gets an official release under the moniker Man on Fire. Listen below.
The remix artwork references the handful of crystals and USB stick that DOOM used to deliver demos to Lex Records. Yorke’s version of Gazzillion Ear is released as part of the label’s remix series, which also features a King Krule remix of the Eyedress track Jealous, and Actress’ take on Kaleida’s Think.
After MF DOOM’s death was announced, Yorke penned a tribute to the rapper back in January. He wrote: “He was a massive inspiration to so many of us, changed things.. for me the way he put words was often shocking in it’s genius, using stream of consciousness in a way i’d never heard before …”
