Semibreve Festival has commissioned a series of exclusive video performances.
The Portuguese event, which ran from 29-31 October in Braga, has shared three new videos featuring performances from harpist Zeena Parkins, composer Rafael Toral and multi-instrumentalist Rabih Beaini. The three artists also performed at the festival’s recent edition, where they premiered new pieces – created for the festival – at Theatro Circo.
Each black and white video was filmed at Braga’s Galeria Duarte Sequeira, a 900-metre art space and warehouse surrounded by a sculpture garden. Commissioned in partnership with Canal180, the first of the three film commissions features a harp solo from Parkins. The second and third feature improvisations from Toral and Beaini, respectively.
