This year’s ceremony was originally due to take place on 31 January in Los Angeles.

The 2022 Grammy Awards will now take place on 3 April in Las Vegas, the Recording Academy and CBS have confirmed. The shift in date and location follows the recent postponement of the event’s January show, which was scheduled to take place in LA, due to “uncertainty surrounding the Omicron variant”.

The event will now be broadcast live from Las Vegas’ MGM Grand Garden Arena, with comedian Trevor Noah returning to host the show.

“We are excited to take the Grammys to Las Vegas for the very first time, and to put on a world-class show,” reads a statement from Harvey Mason Jr., CEO of the Recording Academy. “From the moment we announced the postponement of the original show date, we have been inundated with heartfelt messages of support and solidarity from the artist community. We are humbled by their generosity and grateful for their unwavering commitment to the Grammy Awards and the Academy’s mission.”

The likes of Doja Cat, Justin Bieber and H.E.R are among the 2022 Grammy Award nominees. Elsewhere, Billie Eilish and Oliver Rodigo are nominated for seven trophies each, while Lil Nas X, Baby Keem, Tyler, the Creator and Megan Thee Stallion could also walk away with trophies on the night.
