Optimismo is a new festival heading to Kaunas, in Lithuania.
The new event will take place at a former industrial site and across various venues in the city on 3-5 June 2022. Presented by Kaunas – European Capital of Culture 2022 and its Modernism for the Future programme, Optimismo is billed as an electronic and experimental music festival that will establish a connection with the city’s past and its monuments.
The festival has added Bambounou to the line-up, along with SVBKVLT‘s Osheyack. Previously announced acts include Krikor, Nick Klein and Animistic Beliefs.
Optimismo takes its name from and is inspired by historian Marija Drėmaitė’s Architecture of Optimism exhibition and book. Additionally, the event will explore the relationship between artists and their homeland including a conversation with Angolan producer Nazar – who featured as part of the Shape Platform takeover on crackaud.io.
