Temporary Pleasure launch crowdfunder for new Dublin club

The DIY collective are raising funds to build a new temporary club in Dublin.

In response to the crisis faced by nightlife in Ireland – which has left the country with fewer than 50 clubs – Temporary Pleasure have announced their latest project. This will see them transform an empty building in Dublin’s city centre into a six-week seasonal club space. To do this, they’re asking people to donate to their Kickstarter campaign.

Set to run between September and October 2022, the venue will host 40 multi-disciplinary events and a series of workshops in collaboration with Give Us the Night – an Irish group also campaigning for positive change in Ireland’s nightlife. The club space will be constructed by 50 participants during a two-week design and build workshop. The series of events will platform local artists, performers, dancers and DJs.

Sharing the news to Instagram, the team wrote: “Together, we have the opportunity to empower new community spaces and reimagine architecture and nightlife in Ireland. We hope you share our vision and can join us in making it a reality.”

Temporary Pleasure is a collective of architects and club creatives focused on grassroots and community approaches to club culture. Find out more about their latest project via their video below.
