Both DJs have announced their departure from the South Asian collective.

Sharing the news yesterday (15 May) via Instagram, DJ Priya wrote, “It’s been fun but after 2 years I have decided to leave Daytimers. Thank you from the bottom of my heart to every single one of you. Thank you for coming to the shows, dancing with me, introducing me to your families and helping me champion a more inclusive community.”

Though a reason for her departure wasn’t included in the announcement, the selector had taken to her Instagram story last week to state that she was leaving the collective as a “last resort because my mental health is suffering”.

Gracie T, who also runs The Beatriarchy, announced they are leaving the collective as well. “It’s been 2 years full of joy, hard work & passion but I’ve decided to leave Daytimers for now,” she wrote.

In their posts, the pair shared a selection of highlights from the past two years and back-to-back sets they played together. Speaking on what’s next DJ Priya said, “I’ll be continuing to do what I do best – bringing bass, booty, and a safe space for qpoc at my own shows.” Gracie T shared that she will be continuing to champion an inclusive music community through The Beatriarchy.
