Kontraklang, a monthly series of contemporary music in Berlin, has shared the details of its next events.
The programme features performances from two European ensembles, who will perform gamelan music – the traditional sounds of Indonesia. The concerts will be carried out by Nist-Nah and the Pak Yan Lau Bakunawa Ensemble. The concert will take place at St Elisabeth Church on 9 October. Furthermore, Kontraklang is set to host movie night alongside its music programme.
Kontraklang champions cutting-edge sounds, focusing on chamber music in particular along with sound art, compositions and its surrounding practices. The event series is programmed to question the limits of sound, and boundaries of genres.
The upcoming concert is a part of the REMAIIN (Radical European Music and its Intercultural Nature) project. It’s also supported by Creative Europe.
