Hudson Mohawke and Patti Harrison team up for Bicstan video

Ahead of his new album Cry Sugar dropping this Friday (12 August) on Warp Records, the Glaswegian artist has shared the new music video.

The visualiser for Hudson Mohawke’s single Bicstan is co-directed by American comedians Patti Harrison and Alan Resnick. Harrison, who is also an actress known for roles in Shrill, Together Together and The Lost City as well as contributing to writing for Big Mouth, stars in the music video too. The clip sees Harrison play a dancer in a 1v1 basketball and unleash some trippy spider-like supernatural powers.

Speaking on directing the video, Harrison and Resnick said, “When we first heard the song Bicstan from Hudson Mohawke we both started dancing like crazy and couldn’t stop. When the song ended we noticed a dusty basketball in the corner of the room that was not there before. The idea for the music video came directly from this experience. We saved a lot of money on production because we already had that free basketball.”

Bicstan is taken from Mohawke’s upcoming third LP Cry Sugar, which will be his first original release since 2015’s Lantern. Mohawke has also recently dropped Stump and Cry Sugar (Megamix) ahead of the full album coming out. Watch the music video in the player above.
