Explore 50 years of British LGBTQIA+ parties on our map, HERE, THERE, EVERYWHERE

We’d like to show you HERE, THERE, EVERYWHERE – a non-definitive, gloriously messy map of people and parties that have made things move across 50 years of British LGBTQIA+ history.

The map was lovingly created by Crack Magazine, Queer Britain and Levi’s ®. Illustration by Leon Davis with editorial and research by Jake Hall and Lisa Power. It brings together over 30 parties from the UK and Ireland, each with its own history and bespoke illustration. Collating both past and present nights, the map is a pin-drop on 50 years of music, activism and movement.

Editorial lead Jake Hall writes, “It’s not a definitive list – we all have our own favourites – and as such does not claim to be exhaustive. It’s not a rundown of the most popular, the most successful or the best club nights. It’s a tribute to venues and collectives that laid the foundations, that are trying new things, that championed – and are championing – marginalised voices, that provide the backdrop in which we find out who we authentically are.”

To celebrate the unveiling of the map, we’re bringing a very special lineup of residents (all of whom feature on the map) to legendary venue The Glory is Dalston this Thursday (8 September).

Physical maps will be available to take home and you’ll be blessed with an expert soundtrack from 8pm right through until the early hours. RSVP here if you want to join us. Tell your friends to tell their friends.

The maps themselves will be printed a limited number of times and made available very soon via Crack Magazine and Queer Britain. All proceeds go to funding Queer Britain so they can keep recording, displaying and amplifying British LGBTQIA+ history.
