The trio has released their debut EP, Aqrxvst Is the Band’s Name.

King Krule, Jadasea and Pretty V have revealed their new project Aqrxvst with their debut three-track release. The EP was recorded last year and is entitled Aqrxvst Is the Band’s Name. Listen to the full release below.

King Krule – aka Archy Marshall – previously collaborated with Jadasea on the 2019 release half-life, which Marshall produced under his Edgar the Breathtaker alias. The two artists have also worked together as members of the group Sub Luna City, who released the album City Rivims Mk 1 in 2014.

King Krule’s latest release was the 2021 live album You Heat Me Up, You Cool Me Down – a 17-track release featuring live renditions of his tracks including Stoned Again from his album Man Alive! as well as fan favourites such as Easy Easy, Baby Blue and Out Getting Ribs. The release was also accompanied by a short film by Reuben Bastienne-Lewis featuring live footage from King Krule shows. In November last year, he shared a remix of Midnight Sun by Nilüfer Yanya from her album Painless – which we included in our Top 50 albums of 2022.

We caught King Krule’s Sunday headline set at End of the Road 2021. In our review we wrote that his “main stage set showcases a musical universe that has exponentially expanded.” His track Dum Surfer – which is on the 2017 album The OOZ – featured in our Top 100 songs of the decade, which we described as “a hijinks odyssey through the early hours, Dum Surfer even transforms a 3am takeaway into something special. The track hits early in King Krule’s third and fullest album, The OOZ, and captures Archy Marshall’s sideways twist on low-lit, loose jazz atmospherics.”
