Eastern Margins have announced a month-long tour travelling to fourteen cities in East Asia between 28 September and 28 October. Cities include Mainland China, Korea, Japan, Hong Kong and Taiwan.
Continuing on from their South-East Asia edition earlier this year, Eastern Margins – the label, event series and agency dedicated to platforming alternative Asian culture – has shared details of their forthcoming tour. Entitled Road 2 Redline, the series of events is described as “a cultural diffusion concept” aiming to bring different regional sounds to audiences across the cities on the tour, platforming the collective’s “signature Redline sound, characterised by a Hi-NRG, DIY “why not” mentality.”
Confirmed artists include LVRA and Lumi, with the former playing all dates on the tour and the latter all except for the shows in Taipei and Hangzhou. They are joined by other label & family artists, including Australian-Korean K-pop dystopia band 1300, Kawaii hardcore duo QQBBG, Asian rave revivalist Dirty K, Gabber experimentalist Numb’n’dub, local Taiwanese artist Wu Hun and Eastern Margins’ multi-hyphenate Jex Wang.
Road 2 Redline is curated by an all-star cast of Asian creative collectives, including CANTEEN (Tokyo), Yeti Out (Hong Kong), Triple Happiness Club (Hong Kong), Divine Heem (Seoul), Seoul Community Radio (Seoul), D1S (Guangzhou), SILK (Beijing), Over My Body (Taipei) and Function Lab (Hangzhou).
