Semibreve festival returns next month, from 26-29 October, and has today unveiled its full programme which features a new collaborative show.
It’s a link-up between multi-instrumentalist and composer Eiko Ishibashi and Oscar-winning director Ryusuke Hamaguchi, who previously worked together on the latter’s acclaimed 2022 film Drive My Car. Entitled GIFT, the show will include a silent film accompanied by a live soundtrack performed by Ishibashi.
The Portuguese festival has previously announced a whole host of acts, collaborations, workshops and performances for its upcoming 13th edition, which will take place across Braga. Among those acts are the likes of Loraine James, Nkisi, Mumdance, Beatrice Dillion and DJ Lynce. There will also be a new cinematographic collaboration between Japanese artists Tujiko Noriko and Joji Koyama. Festival-goers can also watch the world premiere of a new audiovisual show from Maya Shenfeld and Pedro Maia, which was specially commissioned by the festival.
Semibreve is back in October. Visit the festival’s site for daily programmes, further line-up information and remaining tickets.
