The competition for rising UK and Ireland-based artists is open for one week from 29 January.
Glastonbury Festival has announced the details of its annual Emerging Talent competition. Open for a week from 29 January until 5 February, the competition gives unsigned musicians and bands from the UK and Ireland the opportunity to compete for a main stage slot at this year’s event, staged from 26 to 30 June, 2024.
Supported by PRS for Music and PRS Foundation, the free-to-enter competition also awards a £5,000 prize to the winner to help kickstart their music career. Two runners up will receive £2,500.
In 2023, Guinea-born, Cardiff-based musician N’famady Kouyaté won talent contest. “Winning Glastonbury’s Emerging Talent competition was amazing and has opened loads of doors for me,” Kouyaté says of the experience in a statement. “It gave me and the band a chance to perform on an amazing stage at an incredible festival. Winning also meant that I could take the next steps to further my career.”
