Polyester launches Eden Young Fellowship for aspiring working class journalists

The publication is also running a raffle to raise funds for the fellowship.

Polyester has launched the Eden Young Fellowship, which will offer mentorship to an aspiring working class writer. They will receive a year-long, full-time and fully paid position with the independent publication, which focuses on intersectional feminist arts and culture.

The fellowship has been set up to honour the legacy of the late Eden Young, who formed part of the Polyester team as managing editor and co-hosted their podcast. “To honour her immense legacy within arts, culture, feminism, and internet culture,” Polyester writes, “we’ll employ an aspiring journalist as a member of the Polyester team, and offer them this same type of on the job training.”

A raffle has also been launched to fundraise for the fellowship. Running for three weeks, prizes in the raffle include a production session with Merry Lamb Lamb, mentorship and feedback sessions from the likes of Hannah Ewens, Sirin Kale and Tavi Gevinson plus signed film posters, prints, books, designer clothing and more.
