Tara Clerkin Trio, Richard Dawson and Afriquoi to play HowTheLightGetsIn

The music and philosophy festival has announced its full music programme.

HowTheLightGetsIn takes place in Hay-on-Wye, Wales, across the May Bank Holiday weekend (24-27 May 2024). Headlining the event will be The Orb and Crazy P Soundsystem. James Holden is also set to make his debut at the festival along with performances from experimental outfit Tara Clerkin Trio, jazz-funk quintet Ebi Soda, UK dub pioneer Mad Professor and a DJ set from Hercules and Love Affair.

Other names confirmed to play include Afriquoi, Sea Power, Richard Dawson, Mandrake Handshake and MOBO award winning artist Ayanna Witter Johnson. Check out the full music programme here.

As the world’s largest music and philosophy festival, HowTheLightGetsIn will also host a full programme of talks and debates – this year organised under the theme ‘Dangers, Desires and Destiny’. Speakers include Slavoj Žižek, Claire Provost and John Bercow with live podcasts from platforms Novara Media and PoliticsJOE. The festival will also feature a comedy line-up and a wellbeing area.
