NoFit State Circus announces three Bristol productions this spring

It sees the return of its ever-popular SABOTAGE performance, along with new shows Bamboo and Death in Venice.

Long-running circus collective NoFit State has announced its return to Bristol at the end of April with a slate of new dates and productions.

It features an extended run of its popular SABOTAGE show – an exploration of the “darker, grittier and more subversive” sides of contemporary circus – along with an enlarged cast and production crew. Beginning on May 18 and showing until June 2, it will take place in NoFit State’s Big Top tent on Wilson Street in St Paul’s.

There will also be a preview of its new outdoor production Bamboo, which explores the interconnected, fragile nature of life on earth, with circus artists using only bamboo to sculpt ambitious structures that support their bodies and movements during a tense, lucid performance.

The collective has also announced a one-off performance of Death in Venice, in partnership with the Welsh National Opera (WNO). Taking place on April 27 at the Bristol Hippodrome, it sees SABOTAGE director Firenza Guidi take on the role of circus director, bringing added drama to the performance of Benjamin Britten’s final opera.
