Ukrainian composer and musician Oleh Shpudeiko took centre stage at the CTM Festival, a renowned music and visual arts event held in Berlin, Germany from 26 Jan – 4 Feb.
Supported by motion designers u-matic and telematique, SHAPE+ co-signed Heinali – a music composer and sound artist influenced by Early music and medieval polyphony – presented an audiovisual catharsis through the use of resynthesised early music, exploring the intersections of past and present.
Supported by the European Union, innovative music and arts platform SHAPE+ is driven by a commitment to growing rising talent, be it through performance invitations, collaborative residencies, or seminars and networking events.
CTM Festival is an annual display of thought-provoking, site-specific works, created in response to a chosen theme, with this year the theme being Sustain. Under this theme, the festival showcased the current state of left-field and experimental music, passing through a range of Berlin venues such as Berghain, silent green, radialsystem, OXI, RSO.Berlin, and Volksbühne am Rosa-Luxemburg-Platz.
Heinali’s CTM installation was publicised through the platform SPACE+, a collaborative project supported by a union of 15 European festivals, including CTM Festival.
