The new commission from The Independent Movement for Electronic Scenes is presented by Nuits Sonores, Reworks, Sónar and Terraforma.

Collaborative project TIMES (The Independent Movement for Electronic Scenes) creates original multidisciplinary performances, bringing together ten European festivals to commission and support them.

The initiative has announced its next piece for this year, commissioned by Nuits Sonores, Reworks, Sónar and Terraforma.

Bringing together James K, Heith, artist-researcher Günseli Yalcinkaya and set designer by Andrea Belosi, the multidisciplinary performance, titled ‘The Talk’, takes inspiration from the oldest known example of an analogue computer, the Antikythera mechanism. Presented in the style of a surreal panel talk, the performance will feature soundscapes and spoken word, delving into the ways in which narratives, told through various lenses of technology, shape our perception of reality.

Nuits Sonores festival will take place from 28 May-1 June in Lyon, while Sónar will take over Barcelona from 13-14 June, Terraforma Exo will take place in Milan from 28-29 June, and Reworks will visit Thessaloniki from 18-22 September.

TIMES will also bring back its co-curation programme this festival season, for which three festivals will be invited to each festival, promoting artistic experimentation and the exchange of both creative disciplines and culture.
