Simple Things announces opening concert with Daniel Avery playing live and very special, closely affiliated guests

The opening concert will take place on 7 November at Bristol Beacon.

Simple Things returns to Bristol this November for its 11th edition.

Alongside Team Love, Crack Magazine has partnered with the festival again this year to curate an expansive programme that celebrates the best in contemporary music culture.

This year, the multi-venue festival will set the tone with an opening concert featuring producer, DJ, and electronic music stalwart Daniel Avery, who is bringing his much-lauded live show to the main room of the Bristol Beacon. He’ll be joined by a select group of specially curated guests.

Taking place in the Beacon Hall at Bristol Beacon on 7 November, the standalone live show is part of a week-long programme. This includes the main festival day on 8 November, which will unfold across venues in Bristol, including Bristol Beacon, Strange Brew, The Sportsman, Rough Trade, The Christmas Steps, and Bristol Megascreen (formerly The Bristol IMAX).

The first wave of acts has been announced, with highlights including post-punk innovators Dry Cleaning, experimental pop duo Smerz, A/V specialist Iglooghost, London rapper Jawnino, and a showcase from Kampala-based record label and festival Nyege Nyege Tapes

Further festival day acts, gigs, afterparties, and a Sunday closing show will be announced soon.

Tickets for this show and the limited edition combo tickets go on sale at 10am this Friday from The Bristol Beacon website.
