The festival returns to Wales Millennium Centre from 6-12 October as part of Cardiff Music City Festival.
Set for its sixth edition this October, Llais brings together global voices for a unique indoor festival experience at Cardiff’s Wales Millennium Centre.
The festival will take place as part of Cardiff Music City Festival: a two-week-long celebration of music, talks, installations, performances, and technology.
The latest announcement sees Meredith Monk make her long-awaited Welsh debut, performing in Hoddinott Hall alongside longtime collaborators Katie Geissinger and Allison Sniffin. Also joining the line-up is folk and indie-pop artist Mared, performing with her seven-piece band, and Khamira, a collective that fuses Welsh folk and jazz with Hindustani classical music. Meanwhile, Poesis – featuring Welsh-born Claire Victoria Roberts, Lulu Manning (Scotland), Conor McAuley (Northern Ireland), and Xhosa Cole (England) – unites voices from across the UK for a fresh take on traditional folk.
These acts join previously announced artists Rufus Wainwright, Cate Le Bon, Annie and the Caldwells, Mabe Fratti, Enji and Beverly Glenn-Copeland with special guest Elizabeth Copeland. Vieux Farka Touré and Trio Da Kali are also on the line-up, as well as Ibibio Sound Machine and RÓIS.
