Hundreds of hikers trekked across moorland to reach a hidden cave for an intimate underground set from the London-based producer.
Columbia Hike Society’s HikeFest took place over the weekend, with its attendees hiking deep into the Peak District before descending into a hidden cave rave headlined by London-based electronic producer and DJ Duskus.
Hikers were given the exact coordinates of the cave at the start of the day, before being guided by Columbia Hike Society leaders to the subterranean venue, where its natural acoustics and environmental sounds became part of the performance itself. With limited phone signal in the remote location, ravers were able to disconnect from their devices entirely.
By blending emotional, melodic elements with 4×4 house, lo-fi and UK garage, Duskus draws inspiration from the natural world, making his sound a natural fit for a gig that was as much about the journey as the music.
Columbia Hike Society is hosting over 30 free guided hikes across the UK this summer. Get tickets here.
