The Warehouse Project has announced its 2026 season starting on Friday, 18 September, as well as a film, exhibition, print magazine and more to celebrate 20 years of parties.

The Warehouse Project has revealed the first details of its WHP26 season as the Manchester institution marks two decades since launching at Boddington’s Strangeways Brewery in 2006.

Over the last 20 years, WHP has evolved from its early parties at Store Street into a permanent fixture of Manchester nightlife at Depot Mayfield. Across that time, the series has hosted artists from Aphex Twin to Nia Archives, spanning generations of underground selectors, live acts and emerging artists.

To coincide with the anniversary, WHP is releasing a new short film, Twenty Years In Manchester, directed by Leigh Powis. Filmed across three nights in the city, the project combines archive footage with newly shot material captured on Kodak Ektachrome film, focusing on Manchester’s nightlife and the people who have shaped WHP over the years.

The film will be released globally online on Thursday, 29 May, with Apple Music subscribers able to watch from Tuesday, 26 May.

Other anniversary projects are planned throughout the year, including an outdoor photography exhibition launching at The Avenue in Spinningfields this July, a dedicated WHP podcast series exploring stories from the club night’s history, and a new print magazine centred on the artists, venues and communities connected to the project since 2006.

WHP will also expand its partnership with Apple Music with a new run of exclusive Spatial Audio DJ mixes, selected live audio streams, and a dedicated WHP archive featuring previously unreleased mixes from across the past 20 years.

“Reaching 20 years is a huge moment for us,” founders Sam Kandel and Richard McGinnis said. “The Warehouse Project has always been about progression and pushing the boundaries wherever possible. Since that first event when Public Enemy played the opening night at Boddingtons Brewery we’ve always tried to keep things moving and respond as the music and culture around us has evolved.”

The first wave of artists for this season’s shows has also been announced. KI/KI will open the season on Friday, 18 September, while further events featuring names including Interplanetary Criminal and Overmono have also been confirmed. More line-ups and details around the anniversary programme are expected in the coming weeks.
