The Illusions announce debut album Find Your Way and London show with Nathan Haines at EartH Hackney

The Ibiza-born seven-piece will celebrate the release with a double bill alongside Nathan Haines on Friday, 19 June. 

The Illusions have announced their debut album Find Your Way, due out on Thursday, 18 June, alongside a London launch show the following evening. Co-headlined with Nathan Haines, the show will take place at EartH Hackney.

Formed five years ago at the WOM Radio Café in Santa Eularia, Ibiza, the seven-piece bring together Antonio Blakstad (vocals, keys), Pere Navarro (trumpets, keys), Antonio Prosper (bass), Katana McKenzie (percussion), Arturo Garcia (drums), Toni Mari (guitar) and Franco Botto (sax). Find Your Way blends funk, jazz, soul and Afro-influenced rhythms with electronica and hip-hop influences, mixed and produced by Nathan Haines. 

Support for The Illusions has included Gilles Peterson, who has played the band’s music on his BBC 6 Music show.

The lead single Juju Mellow preceded the album on 4 June, with other tracks to be released including The Stream and Slow It Down. The London show on Friday, 19 June will mark the band’s UK debut, presented as a double bill with Nathan Haines and his band, alongside a DJ set from Giles Smith.
