The UK capital will be getting a new club this month called FOLD, and it’ll be launching on 18 August with a party running for “at least” 24 hours.
With an ethos focusing on inclusivity, FOLD will be making its debut with queer parties Homodrop and Resis’dance, along with Andy Blake’s World Unknown, Make Me, Body Hammer, Dimensions, UNITI, Goldsnap, Left Alone and more. A no-photo policy will go ahead as the club’s code of respect.
FOLD is a new addition to the former Shapes collective group of venues, located above a print factory at a non-residential, industrial estate. The club will hold a 24-hour license to complement its 600-capacity dancefloor and bespoke sound system, with a second room due to open later this year. Five purpose-built music studios with 24-hour access will be available for hire to applicable artists by appointment.
FOLD co-founder Lasha Jorjoliani says, “FOLD presents an uncompromising schedule of forward-thinking electronic music. 24-hour events generally take place on Saturdays, Fridays we go till late and mid-week live events are till 3am.”
He continues, “The 24hr programme gives us a unique opportunity to surprise, challenge and inspire. Expect extended set times, obscure b2bs and a generally more expansive palette of sounds over the course of one event.”
