Since the group disbanded Smokey has increasingly indulged her love of drum’n’bass and other breaks-driven sounds, and this set exists almost entirely in that realm. It’s heady stuff, moody basslines and ominous vocals contributing to an alluring darkness, and the stray into super-fast techno at its zenith is exhilarating.
