The British Library, Black Music Library and Death is Not The End will discuss archiving music for Supporters Week

World and traditional music

The conversation forms part of our Subcriber’s Week programme.

It’s been a year since we launched Supporters: a membership package that’s helped us to continue throughout the pandemic. For 2021, we’re introducing Supporters Week – seven days of screenings and talks, curated exclusively for Supporters. A free 30-day pass is available now.

As part of Supporters Week, we’ve lined up a discussion examining the role of music archives, the changing approach to curation and, ultimately, the stories they tell about us. The discussion will take place on 24 March and be available to stream live from 7pm (GMT). The conversation will feature Jenzia Burgos, founder of the Black Music Library, Luke Owens, founder of label Death Is Not the End and Andy Lineham, curator of The Popular Music Collections at The British Library.
