Ren has taken offence to the biopic’s promotional videos.
The highly-anticipated N.W.A biopic Straight Outta Compton is due for a release on 14 August, and so far the trailers have focused on Dr. Dre, Ice Cube and Eazy-E – leaving out group members MC Ren and DJ Yella.
Yesterday (10 June), Ren took to Twitter to express his dissatisfaction, accusing Universal Pictures of ‘tryin [sic] to rewrite history’. He’s also retweeted images showing his prominent writing credits on N.W.A’s records and a HipHopDX article called 5 Reasons Why MC Ren Should Be a Large Part of The “Straight Outta Compton” Biopic.
