Tracee Ellis Ross wore a throwback look from her mother’s wardrobe to the AMAs

Tracee Ellis Ross hosted the American Music Awards on Sunday night (19 November), during which she served up 12 different looks.

From a rotation of sequins to tulle, and a sheer Roberto Cavalli dress to an oversized fur coat, one particular highlight that stole the show was a classic white suit from 1981, taken from her mother’s wardrobe. Complete with a white bow tie and an embellished black blouse, the look mirrored a famous ensemble Diana Ross once wore whilst performing on stage with Michael Jackson in the 80s.

On Instagram, she posted a series of throwback images showing her mother in the same look. The caption states that Ross found the ensemble in her mother’s garage.

Diana Ross was awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award at the ceremony and performed a medley of classics, such as Take Me Higher, I’m Coming Out and Ain’t No Mountain High Enough.
