Sherwood & Pinch
Sherwood & Pinch shouldn’t really need an introduction by now, but they’re going to get one anyway. Adrian Sherwood’s been a pivotal figure in the history of UK electronic music for over 30 years, working as a producer with artists such as Lee “Scratch” Perry, Cabaret Voltaire and Nine Inch Nails, launching seminal label On-U Sound, and forging a successful career as a solo artist. Rob Ellis, aka Pinch, has been a key figure in the emergence of the Dubstep sound in the early 00’s, bringing it to Bristol through his legendary Sub and Dubloaded nights, and back out into the world via the influential Tectonic label he set up in 2005. The pair released the first fruits of their collaborative work in 2013, and recently announced their first full-length, entitled Late Night Endless, out later this year.
Pummelling through stoned-out vocal jams, heavyweight digi-dread and gulliest bass mutations, this exclusive mix succinctly demonstrates the kind of headspace these two operate in – namely a desire to murder any dance they step to.
Catch them at The Marble Factory in Bristol on the 12th of February. Tickets available here
Late Night Endless is available to preorder now through Bleep here
