10 Years of WNCL Recordings #3: Boxwork vs Jane in Palma

Dub Breakbeats

South London’s WNCL Recordings has been a purveyor of the finest hardcore-influenced sounds for a decade, bearing the torch for rave culture with dubplates, compilations and battle-ready 12”s. To celebrate, we’re hosting a head-to-head set from two of the label’s artists each month, split into two 45 minute sides.

Episode three is a departure from previous shows, looking to the dub origins of soundclashes as Boxwork and Jane in Palma trade mighty steppas by the likes of Jah Shaka and Tubby. On side two they get deeper still, digging into their own ‘versions’; throwing down jungle breaks, rave bleeps and endless rolling delays for a hypnotic masterstroke.
