A Week of Sundays: Lava La Rue

Sunday R&B Hip-Hop

As the days blur into one for those of us living under lockdown, this week crackaud.io presents a week of relaxed, Sunday-style sets designed to alleviate the frustrations of stationary living.

Today Lava La Rue – the West London hip-hop and R&B artist and self-styled ‘house mother’ of the NiNE8 Collective – looks to the universal nature of our isolation for inspiration, picking tracks from all over the world for her woozy collage. A recording of her own poem on isolation and bits of chatter are sprinkled throughout, creating the impression of lounging around with the crew. If you’re like us you, could do with a dose of that.
