Two weeks since his passing, the world of dance music is still reeling from the loss of Andrew Weatherall. Over several decades he was one of the most important figures in the UK, always forging his own path, often at the expense of a more lucrative career.
His lasting legacy will, of course, be his music, and we are honoured his friend Timothy Clerkin was happy to record a mix in his memory. “Without the records he wrote, remixed and produced I wouldn’t have been drawn to electronic music,” says Clerkin. “I have opted to simply create a celebration of his music; accessible to the newcomers, but hopefully containing some hidden gems for the already-anointed. If you happen to be new to Andrew’s world, hopefully this will set you off on a path of discovering his music for yourself.”
