Angel-Ho released their third album, A Time To Die, last month. The ten-track record, which was shared via Mexico City imprint NAAFI, delved into various themes long explored by the Cape Town-born artist: gender, sexuality, identity and self-affirmation, to name just a few.
Sonically, it occupied a space rather akin to Angel’s prior output; a defiant blend of pop elements and rapturous club sounds ready to be brought to life during any one of Angel’s thrilling live performances.
Speaking of performances, Angel’s Crack Mix was first whipped up for a recent live show at Austria’s Donaufestival. According to Angel, the all-originals mix “embodies the energy of artist performing [as well as an] energy tangible both online and when I’m adding my own spin on it live.”
“This was my first show in nearly two years, so I needed to celebrate that fact with Crack,” Angel adds. “LOL, doesn’t that sound funny?”
