BADSISTA steps into the mix studio this week, blending funky basslines, percussion and synths.
The Brazilian DJ, producer and co-founder of feminist DJ collective Bandida is dominating Brazil’s underground scene. Having released her debut album, Gueto Elegance, late last year she now embarks on a European tour over the summer. Blending shifting tempos and genres from a mountain of influences including Chicago house, techno, hip-hop, pop and baile funk, her unique style could satiate almost any musical appetite. Through her mix, BADSISTA’s genre-fluid influences are clear. With bouncy beats, tech injections and funk fusion, her ability to seamlessly blend the textures and tempos of world-ranging styles is coupled well with a healthy dose of her own works.
“This mix is 100% of what I’ve been vibing to in the last weeks. Lots of new tracks and some tracks that I’ve been playing every set,” BADSISTA comments. “Talking about production, I’m looking for this sound that is good, special, bright and goes like a train on the right tracks towards paradise, you know what I mean? I want to give you all nice grooves, a big dancing mood and a tight rhythm to keep you focused on the music mission.” Get locked in.
