Oakland’s Bored Lord released her mixtape in case we never get to rave again amid the global isolation of 2020. The title, as if exercised as a mantra, spurred a frenzy of self-released EPs that kept energy levels high and good vibes flowing at a time without raves.
With more fuel in the tank, Bored Lord – real name Daria Lourd – has released yet another vital EP. This time around, the producer has joined Eris Drew and Octo Octa’s T4T LUV NRG imprint to release a four-track project entitled The Last Illusion. It’s an exhilarating showcase of her frenetic style, skating between hardcore house, basement party fuel and pop motifs.
Her Crack Mix, which we are thrilled to share today, exists in this same realm. “This mix was made with vinyl records I’ve collected that inspired me while writing The Last Illusion,” says Bored Lord. “I recorded it during a rainy day at the Lower Grand Radio studio under a full moon.” Whistles at the ready!
