Chloé Robinson is a force to be reckoned with.
Formerly known as Barely Legal, the alias under which she explored her affinity for bass-heavy club sounds for over a decade, the Birmingham-born selector now DJs and produces under her given name. Her selections may have switched up to make room for styles such as techno, house and breaks, but her dexterity behind the decks remains as dazzling as ever.
Robinson’s Crack Mix is a fine introduction to music permeating her sets of late. The recording also includes several tracks released via her own label, Pretty Weird. “This mix predominantly consists of music made by good friends and a few productions by myself,” says Robinson. “I have also included a very special remix of a track by DJ ADHD and myself from Four Tet, which I’m so honoured to share. Expect a mix of techno, breaks and maybe even some early 2000s grime at the end.”
Chloé Robinson plays One Out Festival, Walton-on-Thames, on 18 June
