Colleen “Cosmo” Murphy will be a name you more than likely recognise. A DJ, radio host and curator, as well as the founder of Classic Album Sundays, Murphy has built a career around the communal aspects of music she relishes in the most: new experiences, shared firsts, the making of poignant memories. It makes complete sense that she cut her teeth at the late David Mancuso’s legendary the Loft parties – shaping her approach and style around many of these formative adventures.
A regular on the festival circuit, this summer she’ll be fostering some new experiences and creating memories of her own as she hits up all manner of events across the UK – including a stop in east London this week for the launch of her latest Balearic Breakfast compilation, and a trip to new Buckinghamshire festival Stowaway.
The compilation – well, a track from it, at least – also kickstarts her deep, deliberate and slow drifting Crack Mix, which is packed with cosmic chuggers and uplifting remixes. Always unexpected, yet seamless. Time to let your mind float downstream.
