At the tail end of the 2010s Courtesy released her Essential Mix for the BBC, a fitting marker of respect for the figurehead of Copenhagen’s ascendant techno scene. True to form, it was packed with tracks by the Danish capital’s most exciting artists like Sugar and Schacke. Among them is Kasper Marott, whose gorgeous outlier Drømmen om Ø (Forever Mix ’19) was one of the finest releases on Courtesy’s Kulør last year.
Today we find him representing the label for their second show. A blend of the guttural squelch and luminescent glow found within his reflective productions, Marott’s mix is a satisfying slow–burn for the start of the year.
