Crack Mix 606: Nic Krog

Bass Experimental

Berlin-based Danish musician and sound artist Nic Krog takes over this week’s Crack Mix with a patchwork of sonic influences for their forthcoming EP, Better Failing.

Out on 23 June via Krog’s label Foul-Up, the five-track project documents a journey through disillusionment and crushed expectations after a breakup, ultimately finding relief in embracing failure and surrendering to transformation. Blending bass-heavy club music with diaristic spoken word and experimental sound art, the project finds new avenues for exploration within the artist’s signature sound, and this mix serves as its mood board. Get stuck in.

Who: Nic Krog.

Where: From Denmark, based in Berlin.

What: A soundtrack for getting it wrong. A mood board for my new EP, essentially.

WhenYou tell me.

Why: To keep sane.

This year, Nic Krog is one of the artists supported by the SHAPE+ Platform – an initiative spotlighting innovative music and interdisciplinary art, co-funded by the European Union and Pro Helvetia.
