Finnish musician Jaakko Eino Kalevi is the latest artist to step up for Domino Records’ crackaud.io residency. Starting out over a decade ago, he made his name mixing poppy songwriting with deliciously grubby, punk-tinged electronics. With time his sound has become sleeker and more polished, though no less debauched (see last year’s mini-album, Dissolution).
This mix, full of exclusives and unreleased tracks, embraces the chug in his style. These few tracks stretch out endlessly, lazily cool but always reflective of Kalevi’s oddball whimsy.
