Another dispatch from modern classical giants Erased Tapes, this time with German composer and sound designer Ben Lukas Boysen.
Boysen started his career as HECQ, making contorted IDM and breakcore before he began releasing under his given name in the mid-2010s. This shift marked a move into more contemplative, piano-led work, as his new LP Mirage attests.
Both sides of his work are present here and his mix is loosely split in two: expansive, stretching ambient giving way to nervous textures and eventually the resolute march of kick drums.
