Our latest mix is a snapshot of the experimental sounds and artists bubbling up in the Czech underground. It comes courtesy of Prague-based DJ, producer and sound designer Ancestral Vision – who is also the co-founder of club night turned electronic label and radio show Unizone.
Back in March, Unizone released a 19-track fundraising compilation featuring tracks from Czech and Czechia [Czech Republic] producers in support of Ukraine following the Russian military invasion. Many of these artists – Krabs, GWD, Oliver Torr and more – also appear on today’s specialist session.
“The Czech experimental scene has been blooming over the past couple of years with interesting and talented artists. I’m honoured to showcase many of them in this mix, which ranges from abstract soundscapes to high BPM bangers,” the producer tells Crack Magazine. “Our scene is still a bit overlooked in Western media, but it’s slowly getting more attention outside both Czechia and the digital underground bubbles.” Time to get stuck in.
Ancestral Vision plays Lunchmeat Festival, Prague, on 26 September – 1 October
