Self-described “multinational alt K-pop group” Balming Tiger exude an exuberant swagger. Over the past few years, the Seoul-based collective has been making waves with their expansive creative vision that slickly straddles K-pop, hip-hop and rap – and rightly so.
For their Specialist Mix – which comes ahead of forthcoming new track Kamehameha – two members from the collective, Unsinkable and Leesuho, take us “from Seoul to the world”.
Here, the pair journey from their immediate scene and surrounds – via fellow Seoul-based artists such as Salamanda, Kim Ximya, Net Gala and Balming Tiger’s own Omega Sapien and Mudd the Student – through to a worldwide snapshot of artists from their play queues, taking in Arca, Amnesia Scanner, Flying Lotus and Liv.e. All of which culminates in a sped up version of their recent single SOS. An undeniably fun mix that reflects the dynamic world of Balming Tiger – but don’t just listen to us, press play and dive in.
