Horror film soundtracks – Mixed by Puce Mary

Soundtrack Experimental

It’s officially Spooky Season, and we’ve got a Halloween mix by Copenhagen sound artist Puce Mary.

The PAN and Posh Isolation affiliate has always operated on the darker fringes of music, crafting claustrophobic, and also transcendent, soundscapes using experimental sonics and industrial noise. Beyond releasing music on labels such as iDEAL, the Danish artist – real name Frederikke Hoffmeier – has stepped into the field of soundtracks too, having scored Jeanette Nordahl’s debut feature film Kød & Blod, which premiered at the Berlinale in 2020.

For our Halloween special, Meier stitches together a chilling, spine-tingling mix of horror movie soundtracks, ranging from cult classics to more obscure films. There’s John Carpenter’s Halloween, Goblin’s Suspiria, an unused score by Coil and much more. This mix, as Meier writes, “is dedicated to Yoma”.
